Overview

Banjo-Kazooie is a classic 3D platformer developed by Rare for the Nintendo 64.

During the start of its development, it began as a side-scrolling RPG for the SNES otherwise known as Project Dream/Dream: Land of Giants that takes place in a fantasy setting. After a few months, the team decided it was too ambitious for the SNES, so they moved over to the Nintendo 64 with a pirate theme.

Frankly in 1997, Dream is in danger of growing stale, so the team went back to square one by creating a 2.5D platformer starring an animal protagonist in the form of a honey bear. This rendition was called Kazoo. During springtime, the team have ditched the 2.5D formula after Nintendo inspired them with their footage of their premier N64 title Super Mario 64. Rare liked the idea and have Kazoo overhauled into a full 3D called Banjo-Kazoo. They are preparing to unveil the project to the audience at E3, but little did they know is that they've come across some trademark issues over "Kazoo", so they added the "ie" at the end of the name which then became "Kazooie". The name is now "Banjo-Kazooie".

This game contains seven hidden items which are originally planned for the infamous Stop 'N' Swop feature.
