Notes

The <wait> control character actually acts as a segment of the text. It adds an orange fish to the bottom-right corner of the text box and the text stops until the player advances it with A. Text boxes must preserve a set number of waits. If there are too few waits the text box may erroneously bring up text from the next text box after the end of a character's dialog/menu message.

<clear> must not come before <wait> (instead; if both <wait> and <clear> are used <wait> must come before <clear>), otherwise the game may not properly split the text.

The <clear> control character will clear everything including <startname> strings. It will also bring the game back to the top of the text box.

So very stubbly.
