I know there are some ROM info pages here... but nothing is linked from the main page! There's no way to start or get into the web of interlinked pages, lists, and crosslinked datafiles to start exploring. No alphabetical list, no links from the console pages, nothing.

Someone who actually knows whats on this site please post some links of the day, or some other guide of how to get started viewing information.

Each console page has links to lists of games for that console. You did not find this intuitive, so there is obviously something wrong with it. If you have a suggestion for a better way to set up the links either suggest it here or implement it. The main page is not currently protected. --AnyoneEB 22:31, 18 Oct 2005 (EDT)
Okay, I just did a bit more catagorization and now there is a "games" link under the "consoles" link. I think that makes more sense. Do you think that fixes the problem? A link-of-the-day is certainly a good idea; Wikipedia does it. --AnyoneEB 22:50, 18 Oct 2005 (EDT)
Customizing the nav bar would make site navigation considerably simpler, IMO. --Labmaster 23:35, 18 Oct 2005 (EDT)
Yeah, that is a bit more work with 1.4.x. I was looking into an upgrade to 1.5.x so it would easy to modify the navbar. (We certainly aren't using say the "Community Portal" link.) --AnyoneEB 06:46, 19 Oct 2005 (EDT)
I'd definitely recommend an upgrade to 1.5.x as soon as possible, I've been using it on my site since its release a couple of weeks ago and haven't had any issues with it. --Labmaster 00:42, 20 Oct 2005 (EDT)

I agree actually. Having quick links to NES and SNES platforms, for instance, would make navigation much easier. Crawling through the current navigation just seems pointless... --Gavin 03:47, 19 Oct 2005 (EDT)

I added links for each system's category pages to the main page, but I agree that it would be nicer for them to be on the navbar. --AnyoneEB 06:46, 19 Oct 2005 (EDT)

I definitely agree; however, is there a way to make all consoles available on the navbar without making it long and incredibly cluttered? I know NES and SNES hacking are the most popular, especially right now, however I don't think we should be overly prejudicial towards any one console.--Gau 07:06, 19 Oct 2005 (EDT)

216.220.23.234: There is a discussion going on about the format of the links on this page. If you wish to make a change, please at least explain it here. --AnyoneEB 16:48, 19 Oct 2005 (EDT)

I have modified the system names for the original ones. --X-or 22:00, 26 Oct 2005 (EDT)

Someone with the IP 71.192.197.130 changed the titles back without leaving a comment, he hasn't made any other changes in the site so I assume it's safe to change them back...--X-or 06:46, 27 Oct 2005 (EDT)

Uploading

Uploading needs to be enabled. Seriously, the design of pages is god-awful, and a screenshot/box shot would spruce them up.

Opps, it was enabled. It must have been disabled by the upgrade to 1.5.1. Yes, that was it. Fixed. --AnyoneEB 18:24, 5 November 2005 (EST)

Protect Main Page?

Might be an idea - if a non sysop needed to make a change they could simply post a request here.

We have not really had a problem with vandalism on the main page. If it becomes a problem, then it will be protected. --AnyoneEB 20:15, 19 December 2005 (EST)

"Edit Article"

Could you please remove the [edit] tag that is (supposed) to be at the end of each section? I realise it can be disabled in your user profile, but the majority of FireFox users do not know this. It will look like this for most of them:

Now, this is hardly a useful feature - no one uses it. It would be better off if it was removed completely.

-_- I know the edit section link CSS is bugged when there are infoboxes to the right. It would be nice if someone could figure out how to fix the CSS.
I will see if there is some way to default those links to off instead of on. Personally, I find them useful.
