The PlayStation Portable, or PSP, was a video game console based around the MIPS R4000. The PSP used UMD discs for game distribution, a proprietary format controlled by Sony. Sony Memory Stick was used for local storage. The console was able to connect to PlayStation Network, Sony's online game service.
