Some graphics are stored using the dictionary method of compression.  The dictionaries exist as arrays in the rom, Usually they are stored right in front of the compressed graphic data, and each dictionary tends to be designed for one specific piece of graphics data.
 
 
Names are hardcoded in the dialogue, so a name must be changed throughout the text in order to be fully altered.
